Creative Designs Gives Students Advice
Bridgetown, Barbados, March 16, 2011 ? Third form students of Combermere School who openly admitted to being more attracted to traditional careers got an opportunity to learn first hand more about the Construction Industry and the wide choices of careers open to them.
Creative Designs Building Construction (Barbados) Ltd., a leader in the Construction Industry, participated in the school's career awareness programme. Fiona Chedda, a Project Engineer with the Company not only provided students with information on the range of job options available to them and how they can advance their careers but the importance of the Construction Industry to economies around the World.
When construction is booming - there is more money in circulation. When construction is down as is the case with the current worldwide recession - many people are out of work and all industries and professions feel the negative impact she stated. Students also got an opportunity to learn about the educational requirements, benefits and compensation packages available to practitioners - both skilled and unskilled in the industry.
By the close of the session, some students' interests were piqued while others acknowledged that they would consider a career in the industry.
